I've been going crazy over the past few weeks, impatiently waiting for them to announce the full line-up to this year's Hard Rock Calling Festival at Hyde Park. Most of the major festivals around that time have already confirmed headliners. But so far, the line-up for Friday is pretty kick-ass: second timers Ben Harper & Relentless7 and The Gaslight Anthem opening for Pearl Jam, together with Australian hard rock band, Wolfmother.
As for the rumors, Paul McCartney is slated to headline one of the nights. Social Distortion is also rumored to play HRC. So far so good. The Hold Steady is in London that week, so I won't be surprised if they're booked to play Hyde Park too. Also, John Fogerty is touring Europe, but no UK dates have been announced so far. I'm quite sure HRC will want him. But the big one is still Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers....
EDIT: Paul McCartney is slated to headline on Sunday. Still, my chances of going are getting more slimmer each day. Have to wait and see Saturday's headliner and the rest of the supporting line-up first.
