Super Bowl XLIV Halftime Show

First things first, I'm glad that the New Orleans Saints beat the Indianapolis Colts. I'm a fan of neither team, but I can't even begin to imagine what this means for the people of New Orleans and Louisiana; with their team making the Super Bowl and clinching it for the first time ever.

Over the past few years, we've seen some of the biggest artists in the world play the halftime show. Paul McCartney, Prince, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band. This time, it was The Who's turn to take the stage. So what's the verdict? Are they still the world's greatest rock band? Ok not quite, but still pretty close. At least they did the gig for free.

There were plenty of mixed reviews about their performance, with many saying it was downright awful. It sounded like Roger Daltrey had lost his singing edge slightly, but the band still put on a kick-ass medley of 12 mins. Lotta fireworks and pyrotechnics were used, and used pretty effectively too. And the stage looked friggin' cool. Pete Townshend was his usual self, on fire and doing his famous windmills at all the right moments. Damn, now I really gotta see The Who live!
